 We are going live....

It was the last thing I would have wished to do, for my face to face classes to have stopped so soon but I think for now it is the safest option especially on top of the government’s announcement yesterday afternoon.

I am very excited, if not a little nervous, that I will now be offering online classes. I will be running them at normal class times and I have added a couple of new sessions - please check the Timetable.

If the thought of being ‘online’ scares you or makes you nervous then please join the club 😅 however, I have tried a couple of sessions myself, not only as a teacher but also as a participant. It’s great. We can all come together and create a safe uplifting online community. Now more than ever it’s important to take care of our mind & body. Pilates can help do just that, by bringing relaxation and mindfulness to your day. Anyone can join in with classes so long as you are fit and able to do so and have space for your mat in your home.

I really appreciate everyone’s support at this time. I feel it would be a shame if we weren’t able to keep connected and continue our Pilates journey together.

And to be able to do my little bit to pay it forwards I am happy to announce that I will be offering my sessions FREE to NHS Frontline workers. I am so grateful to each and everyone of them for all they are doing, I hope in some way this will help them to be able to ‘switch off’ and unwind for a few minutes within their very busy weeks and help them take the time they need to look after themselves 💙 please share and help spread the word.

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that will help build flexibility, muscle strength, and endurance in the legs, abdominal's, arms, hips, and back. It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong centre.

The Pilates method allows for different exercises to be modified in a range of difficulty from beginner to advanced. Intensity can be increased over time as the body conditions and adapts to the exercises.

 

The core of Pilates is ‘awareness of your own body’ each and every exercise is built around its eight key
principles: 

Concentration, Breathing, Centering, Control, Alignment, Flow, Coordination and Relaxation

These 8 key principles are essential ingredients in a high quality Pilates workout. The Pilates method has always emphasised quality over quantity, and you will find that, unlike many systems of exercise, Pilates does not include constant repetitions of each movement. Instead, doing each exercise fully, with precision, yields significant results in a shorter time than one would ever imagine. 

Following the Joseph Pilates method, Charlotte also brings mindfulness and relaxation techniques to her sessions.
